Sit down, hold your dog and rub him, scatch behind the ears, rub his belly ect. Relax and let him relax. Replace you hand with the brush and rub him with it. Don't worry about getting out mats or how he looks. Let him see that the brush feels good. Do that every day and hopefully he will get used to it.
