You are not the only one feeling down on even the supposedly "higher grade" pet food manufacturers. From what I can understand about Evanger's, is that after the dreadful recall in March '07, their facility was expanded hugely due to increased demand, so I imagine many quality control issues fell through the cracks.
I had heard such great things about NV, so I was upset to see what happened with your Kia. Hope she is doing better now with her new diet.

Lauren,
I developed a spine disease, ad until a spine specialist determined that it was affecting the nerves, my D.O. couldn't find a medication to ease the pain.
I'm grateful that I was sent to one of the top neurology clinics in the country, and the disease is manageable. So many with the disease are in worse shape, their spines are completely fused.
Thanks, I am getting around better now, my activities are limited, not something I ever expected at age 55.
I work hard at my PT, because I have 1 year old twin grandsons that I plan to enjoy!
That is such a shame that Evangers quality control declined due to their expansion. My girls loved their food.
I'm disappointed about the NV, too, because it was such a convenient way to feed raw.
