I lived south of New Orleans in Port Sulphur, La. before Katrina. I used a vet in Terrytown or Gretna, La. He was located on Terry Parkway and his name is Joseph DeLucky. We used him for years and was very pleased. We had as many as three dogs and one cat and he was their vet. The name of his clinic is Terrytown Vet Clinic. If you were to use him I know he still remembers the Ballay's. We had a cat that he brought back a couple of times. The cat is still with us and she is 14. Good luck. A good vet is hard to find.
