OK, uncle! Sounds like a lot of knowledgeable people prefer canned. I guess I don't understand the whole teeth thing with kibble. When I got Rusty, he was on canned. The vet on examination said his teeth were bad and he would need a teeth cleaning soon. I switched him to a high-quality kibble. Three months later, the vet told me he no longer needed a cleaning. He told me, "I don't know what you're doing, but it's working."
All I did was switch to kibble, so I assumed it was the chewing of the kibble, but maybe it's something else? Like enzymes created from a higher quality food? I honestly don't know. But I know that his flatulence is also gone, and he hasn't had a bout with diarrhea since I stopped supplementing the kibble with canned. He had terrible incontinence for a while. But those things could all be because a high-quality kibble is better than a low-quality canned. I dunno.
Also, were any of the canned proponents worried during the Menu Foods scare? I was awfully happy that I was on a kibble when that was going on because that was virtually all canned or packaged wet food.
