I'm sorry your husband is away. You must be lonely and I'm sure that's one of the reasons you want to fill your home and your heart with furbabies. I think as long as you can afford them and you won't lose interest once your husband returns then you should do whatever makes you happy! Just make sure you can handle all the potential vet bills, food, supplies, etc. Good luck with your decision!!!
