My hubby had always wanted a Jack Russell terrier and we got one in 2003 (cleverly named Jack). But in 2004, hubby unexpectedly became very sick and was in the hospital 8 times in the next 2 years. He could no long walk Jack or play with him as much as before and everytime hubby would be gone to the hospital, Jack would go nuts, tearing up everything he could get hold of.
So, we placed Jack with the Navy and he became a drug detection dog. My hubby was very very very sad. I knew that we needed to find a dog that fit our changed and very quiet lifestyle and my husband's physical limitations.
So, after lots of research, we settled on a Yorkie and MAN 'O MAN was that the BEST decision we EVER made. First Rowdy and next Rexy -they just live to make us (especially hubby) happy. Neither one is ever more than a few feet away from us. They will sit in hubby's lap all day, they will take a short walk with him if he is able. They will ride in the stroller if we take them shopping. They are so happy to do whatever we are doing.
When hubby talks about them, his eyes just light up and he smiles. He says, "they are the light of my life" (hey, what about me!

That is very important for someone who is very seriously and very unexpectedly very sick at a young age (55). These little guys keep him entertained and feeling uplifted everyday!
Don't know what we'd do without them!
