Can someone help me please...i am training to work at an Italian Restaurant and they have a really BIG wine list. I know nada about wine

It doesn't help that the whole menu is in Italian, even though i studied it last yr, i am familiar with some words but not all. Anyhow the girl that was training me was using a lot of terms because the customers were asking her about the wine, and she was saying things like dry, medium body, smooth, letting it breath, etc. i was so confused, all i know is red wine is good for meat and white whine is good for fish and chicken cause it's more light and i think is supposed to be cooled

All wine seems to taste the same to me

maybe cause im not a big drinker
