 Only In Michigan......it's a Lake Thing
Tonight we're watching the Tigers trying to let the Twins win...again. Trying to warm up from this afternoon's "First Weekend in May at the Beach" experience.
We went to our local beach bar, Capt Jack's opened today for the summer, for lunch and the live band (see pic below). It was 52* & the front end loaders and backhoe's were making so much noise outside and the wind and sand & rain were blowing so much that everyone else was inside eating and drinking. Capt Jack's does not have heat so they stoked up the fireplace to make it more like home & the band moved inside with us to get warm.
The loaders were moving the sand away from the snowfence's that criss/cross the beach (to hold as much sand and snow as possible in the winter) so that the backhoe's could pull the fence stakes out of the sand...another part of the experience. Kind of like watching paint dry, but it was something to do on a crappy day. |
