Yes, a wash cloth would be a good idea or very carefully use your hands to wash the head. I usually just use my hands to work the solutions for rinsing it out. A cotton ball in the ears will help absorb any drops of water that enter the ear canal. Make sure that the hairs down inside the canal are plucked to prevent infections.
