Well, I don't have much advice because my BF is crazy about my pups. But I do understand about having your pets around people that aren't "dog people," and I think it is important to cater to their needs. I want my dogs to be respectful of others and not jump on them or get in their personal space without asking (even though it doesn't bother me when they jump on me and demand kisses and raspberries). I think more people come around to well behaved dogs than they do to misfits. I think if you just put some importance on keeping your dogs well mannered, you won't have a problem.
