I believe oats are good for allergies...just think-Aveeno lotion is for people with really sensitive skin, and there is that oatmeal shampoo for itchy dogs.

I agree with Marci on the fact that a protein should be the first ingredient, however, on #1 duck is first, then two carbs... on #2, it's a carb, then two proteins. So, #2 may actually be better than #1. But, I'm unsure about the Taurine and Salmon Oil in #2...the oil could have mercury in it, and might make him smell fishy

Taurine is essential for cats, but I don't think dogs need it?

I think they're probably equally good foods. I know that helps a LOT
