Maybe it would be worth trying to get her attention on something else..... like a favorite toy.... doing tricks for a favorite treat...

We had a mini schnauzer that I "babied" during bad weather .... and she was always so scared of storms.... I blame myself for that .... I made a big deal out of it and so she reacted in the way she thought best.

When we got Shelby, I knew what I had to do. We played outside as storms were approaching (we could hear the thunder in the distance) and also tried to "ignore" storms when inside..... doing normal activities and not mentioning the "big booms". It has worked!!! These two don't even notice when it starts to thunder.
