My breeder gave me the name and phone # of her vet so I could do just this thing. I would hope that an honest breeder would have nothing to hide. I doubt that the vet would release any information without the breeder's permission. However, if you took your puppy to that vet for an initial "puppy check" I would think he would know what problems to check for since he also knows the dam and sire.
