I guess you could say they are rare in the U.S. but they are becoming very popular. My Darby is the first one that had been seen in my vets office too. If you are interested in one; do your homework. Just like all popular breeds there are good breeders and bad ones. The Biewer itself is a wonderful, beautiful little dog that is just a clown under a fantastic coat.
