I would have freaked out! I freak out over crickets in the house! I don't know if they would work, but I have the sonic plug ins to keep things like mice out. We had a family of field mice in the garage and bonus room (they ran up the rafters from garage) last year, yuk!
Now I have them just about everywhere they may invade! I got mine from Home Depot or Lowes. When I first plugged them in, years ago, my cats jumped up and ran over to them. I called the 800 # and they said it would not hurt pets.
