I've noticed that almost every time I buy a new bag of the raw, it always looks a little different. I'm sure it has to do with everything being raw and the way it gets mixed. Different batches might have slightly different appearances. I don't think I've ever seen any look grey though. I just looked at the frozen bags of lamb I have now (I opened the one that hadn't been opened yet too) and my thawed out lamb medallions and they are a light tan color and light pink when you tear them apart. My venison medallions are currently a bright red-brown color...they usually aren't quite so red, but I know the colors vary slightly.
If it's actually grey, that's kind of strange. I'd call the company and ask or return them to the store and get a new bag. So far as vomitting, some dogs are more sensitive to switching foods than others. Most do fine switching cold turkey to raw..but some will have digestive upsets.
