ok, so, I got the bile acid test results and he does NOT have a shunt!!! I am so happy - totally beyond words.
He does have really low phosphorus levels. I seriously never even knew that dogs needed phosphorus (maybe I am dumb/ignorant? I don't know).
So anyway, the vet suggested I feed him Royal Canin. Can you believe it? I started feeding him that when I first got it him, but I felt guilty because it's not the best food on the market and switched. So now I am going back to that. I'm also going to cut him back on his treat intake. He's a little addict.
