Garrett picked up that nasty little habit too. Honestly I think he did it for attention though, cause the times he did it were say for instance I was sleeping and wouldn't play with him. Or if I went downstairs and left him alone.
Sooooooo, after doing some research here on YT, I decided to try pineapple, so far so good, he hasn't "eaten" any poop since, HOWEVER, he did decorate the bathroom with it yesterday while I was taking a nap
I think he may have figured out the purpose of the pineapple though, cause now when I give it to him, he barks at it before, during and after eating it
