I just posted this update under the Sick/Emergency thread called "Scooter has patent ductus arteriosis".
Thank you all for your prayers and candles for Scooter and me. You have no idea how much that meant to us. I know that it had alot to do with how well Scooter is doing now.

Update on Scooter's surgery: We dropped Scooter off at the surgeon's at 8am this morning. He said that he would start on Scooter around 10-11am and would call me before they started. He called me at 11:30 and said that it took alittle longer to get started because they put the IV in first (which took some time because he is so tiny and wiggley). They gave him some Karyo to keep his bloodsugar stable since he hadn't eaten since 6am (spoonful per instructions) and they were getting ready to put him under at this time.

He called me back at 3:15 and said that Scooter made it through the surgery well . The PDA was wide and it took alittle longer to close off but it looks good so far. They were warming him up at that time and would start to get some food or Nutrcal in him as soon as he was awake enough. Scooter is now at the overnight ER Hospital where they will keep an eye on him, especially since he still has the chest tube in. I will be calling them later this evening to see how he is doing. They will return Scooter to the surgeon's in the morning and hopefully the chest tube will be removed. If he does well during the day, he can come home that evening.

The waiting today was agony but I made it through with the grace of God and the wonderful support and prayers from all of you. Thank you from the bottom of my heart!!!!!!!
