so my question is... how long do you think you need to own your yorkie before you can be absolutely positive they know YOU are their mom/dad?? i've only had Kash for about 3 months... i can tell he loves me, but he pretty much goes nuts for everyone (stranger or not)...
i want him to KNOW who i am... does that make sense? i want him to like other people, but once he sees me, i want him to think "hey, that's my mom, and i love her best!" lol. am i weird or what? |
Yorkies never forget. Back, in '96, my hubby and I got Sydney (our now 12 year old Yorkie) our only human child was Peacekeeping in Bosnia with the Army. Everyday, I would take her, as a little puppy to his room, and let her smell his clothes in his closet, and tell her, "These are Eric's' clothes".
When he returned home and met her for the first time, she greeted him like a long lost friend.
Over the years, she sometimes doesn't see him for a full year...but all we need to to do is mention his name and she is wide eyed with excitement, and when he does come for a visit, she is all over him with tons of kisses!
I promise you, your baby won't forget you.
