it's a little hard to tell with Kash... but he usually starts sniffing around the back door where we let him out (about 3-4 feet away from it)... it's usually when he sniffs a lot that i get suspicious and take him out, and sure enough he goes!
sometimes every hour or so, i'll look at him and say, "Kash, outside??" and he'll get all excited, and that's when i usually know he has to go. if he ignores me, it means he doesn't.
do you have a word that you use with your pup to signify going potty? if not, find one and use it constantly... repitition is key. if you already have a word or phrase, then keep with it...
