Here is what I mix up for my dogs and I make a big batch and freeze in zip loc bags. This makes enough for all three of my girls for a month, getting 1/4 cup each twice a day.

6 pounds of ground meat (I use 3 pounds of bison & 3 pounds of free range ground beef) you can also use ground lamb. Mix or match as you want.
4 containers of chicken livers
8 large or 10 medium fresh carrots
2 cups rice
1 cup lentils
1 cup split peas
1 bunch of fresh parsley chopped fine (optional)

Boil the rice, lentils and split peas together till crisp tender, drain and rinse.
Fry meat in dry skillet let cool then chop in food processer. (the liver you may want to chop by hand since it tends to get too "pasty" in the processer.
chop fine the carrots. (I use a food processer)
boil the rice, lentils and split peas together till crisp tender, drain and rinse.

Mix all together and freeze in quart freezer zip loc bags if feeding two or more dogs, or in pint size if feeding one dog. I don't like having it in the ref. for more than four days, five tops.

The healthy powder I sprinkle on their food each day is from Dr. Pitcairn's book. I also aids in keeping fleas off.
