I always leave my (now) two in the kitchen for the whole day when I am out or at work. I leave weeweepads down for them which they use but if they have an accident on the kitchen floor I really don't care. If you think your job is too demanding for for dogs....I am an accountant and during tax season and even 3 months before that I am up at 5am and at least 2 days a week out of the house by 7am and not back till 9ish. But they just love when I get home and it is just like I never left. Don't give up on them if you can swing it. Even if your are around more on the weekends it will really count. Your schedule is not nearly as bad as mine except for the fact that he is still a puppy and does need to be feed more often.

But I know how you feel.....I had to at first leave Pucci alone when I went out to work then after 2 years we got him another Yorkie (GiGi). Now I rush home to 2 instead of one.

I hope all works out well for you.....is it possible you can have someone come in a lunch time to feed him and play with him for about 1/2hr. I used to do that too.
