New question -- I just did more reading on this -- what about the cats? Do they go too?

I feel so bad for cats in shelters. Over 70% of cats (I believe that's the correct percentage) taken into shelters are euthanized each year. It's so hard to move them. It's so heartbreaking. When I went into the SPCA here to adopt a new kitty when we first moved here last year, there were 3 or 4 rooms of cats, floor to ceiling in cages, some rooms with center aisles, with 2 cats per cage. I ended up taking home 3 adult kitties to go with Osiris, the rescue we've had for 8 years now & Amelia. The sad thing is that it didn't even make a difference. Just opened up room for more kitties to take their place.

I hate hearing stories like this. It truly breaks my heart.
