Cobby is not my word but a word I have heard used to describe the body of Yorkies for years. It has nothing to do with the length of leg but the build of the dogs body. I will use my dog Deuce as a example. He is a cute little guy. Everything is in the right places and his color is correct. He meets the standard but his body is slight and he probably can't do the job Yorkies were bred to do. Now, I think about Tami's dog Conner. He also meets the standard. Everything is in the right place and his color is correct. The difference is when you pick up both boys. Conner's body is thicker and he is much heavier. In fact, he is heavier than he looks. Conner could go out and do the job he was bred to do. |
