"Cobby" is a word I have always heard people use to describe a Yorkie body. Better words may be substantial or thick. They should not be racy like a Saluki or Afghan Hound but solid like a working Terrier. Cobby also sounds like the dog would be short but a correct Yorkshire Terrier should be square. He should be tall as he is long and long as he is tall.
You will know when you pick up one of these dogs. They have a well built, well muscled body. Tami's Conner comes to mind as dog with a correct body type. Donna - considering who bred Radar and the success he is having, I am sure he has the correct body type. I would love to get my hands on him someday. |
