I use small or medium light weight Lainey latex bands for my Maltese and will do for my Biewer... should I ever manage to find one (sigh). They rarely come out of their own accord but can be taken/cut out very easily and do not damage the hair if you're careful. Often used by the show people under bows and also sewn to the back of bows. Terrific value at around £9 for 1,000 - yep... a thousand... and several colours, as well as clear, to choose from
