Linus used to do the same thing for attention. Ignoring didn't work, so I started saying "no" when he barked, and eventually he stopped. Now, when he wants to bark he gets sad and either makes a tiny quiet bark or just goes through the motion of barking, without letting any sound out! He's pretty smart because his fake barks are much more effective at making me feel guilty for ignoring him! Good luc!
