Hi all, my dog has just gave birth to 2 puppies and she has lost her appetite.
Am not sure if it is because we lost 1 puppy last week. He was tiny and rejected food. I have some questions and hope the experts can help me on this.
1. I have much difficulty coaxing the mum to eat. Basically, she only eats what she likes. She does drink water etc.I am feeding whatever we have -wet food, meat stick -her favourite snack to coax her to eat. So far, it has worked. However, we are worried she is not getting enuf nutrients. We have since went to the vet and was prescribed some antibodies and val syrup(vitamin). We are feeding her those. What should we do?
I have been taking her temperature twice a day as well as we r worried abt milk fever. So far, her temperature is normal 38.3 to 38.7 degree celsius.
2. Also, when should new born puppies defecate? daily? because one of the pups does not do this everyday even though we have stimulated like many times. How often should they defecate? The other pup is also experiencing the same problem but at least when she stimulate her three times or so, she will poo. Pee is not a problem, plenty from both of them. They are not crying excessively as we were worried abt air in their belly. Mum is nursing them well and their belly are big and round.
