All pet waste, whether eating non-raw or raw, contains bacteria. Human waste contains bacteria (such as e.coli etc.). Their point on the website regarding waste seemed standard for any waste collection - but I can see why it might be misleading. My Marcel uses pads 80% of the time - and actually poos inside 90% of the time (bc he poos middle of the night and middle of the day) - I pick it up w/ tissue and flush.
We really don't go overboard about the bacteria - and have had no problems whatsoever. Much of the bacteria is killed in the freezing process - and the rest is easily avoided - so it hasn't been an issue for us at all.
