If I suspect my Yorkie is PG, can I still... allow her and the male to interact? I believe she got pregnant 3 - 5 weeks ago. I didn't know she was even in Heat until they were stuck together, and it was NOT planned. Then when the dogs found away to get together about a week later, they got "tied" together again. I have been keeping them apart for the past month in fear that they will "tie" again. I thought I had read on here, or on a website that you are not supposed to try and breed past 3 days, because if the female gets pregnant on day one, and then you breed her again 3 days later, that she can get pregnant with another puppy, and there would be a better chance of that puppy not surviving because it will not be in the Mother as long as the puppies that were conceived 3 days earlier. Is that true??? I just called the Vet to see if I could now allow the Male and Female to interact and the nurse said "yes". I questioned as to whether the female could still conceive more puppies, and she said "no, once she is pregnant, she is pregnant."
I know based on the time period. She is probably no longer in Heat, but when I thought she was no longer in Heat the last time (a couple of weeks ago) they ended up "tied" together again. Any suggestions or information would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks,
Audrey
