I use the NV medallions (raw) for Myah who is almost 5 months. She has been eating this since she came home. I feed her 2 a day and leave out the NV instinct (dry kibble) for her and my Bichon. I use all of the "flavors" and give them something different everyday. You can switch cold turkey or gradually. I mixed the raw with the kibble for my Bichon as she gets sick if she has either one alone and it is a wives tale that you can't feed the 2 together. Yes they digest differently but all different foods digest differently so there isn't a problem.
