It could be a number of things -- allergies to outside things like grass and pollen being brought in on your pup, the salivia of the dog causing reactions, or the dander (skin) that flakes off into the air.

No dogs are hypoallergenic unfortunately although some are less likely to aggravate allergies.

You have to think of allergies like a bucket -- your body can take so much but when it overflows you will start to have symptoms.

Yorkies and other small, single coated breeds shed off less dander, hair and produce less salivia than bigger dogs therefore the severity of the reaction is usually less however some people are more sensitive and over time allergies can build.

If it's just general allergy symptoms like watery itchy eyes, sneezing, ect I'd suggest for her to take an OTC med and wash her hands a lot while she's watching your baby.
