I actually have that very problem going on right now. I took my
Bia to the vet today because about 10 days ago she was diagnosed with scabies
. Where she got it from, I dont know. I think maybe the groomers because thats the only place she goes where she is around unfamiliar
dogs, but anyways she was treated with Ivermectin and about 4 days later her scratching subsided. Then about 2 days ago she started scratching like crazy again and I thought maybe unhatched mites hatched and were bugging her again. I bathed her and tried to calm her leg from going a mile a minute all day but nothing worked. I knew she had to have another injection in two weeks but I called my vet today and told him I couldnt see her miserable anymore. He told me to bring her in and when he was checking her out, he noticed her scabs from the previous mites and said they looked good. He asked if I had seen any fleas on her and I said "no", shes on Frontline. Then he checked between her paws and noticed they were red and he said there was a yeast infection going on there and since she used her back paws to scratch hers ears it transfered to the back of her ears as well. So now everything makes sence
. I am just wondering hew she got a yeast infection between her toes
. He couldn't answer my question, but he said when areas stay moist thats what can happen. It can also be transfered to us also, but only on moist areas. So I wasn't too concerned with that. He gave me some medicated shampoo and told me to wet the areas affected and work up a lather and apply, then just leave it to dry. So I have to start that tomorrow. I feel so bad for my hunny, shes about 4 months old and already has gone through some stuff. I hope everything clears up real soon so she can have a good puppyhood already.
