Well, I suppose if you really watch them closely and make sure that there's nothing coming off the bones or teeth marks, they should be ok. It just alarmed me when I saw the little (and they are tiny) shards..I picked a few up (they were on a blanket that's dark green or I probably wouldn't have even noticed them) and they were sharp, which is why I wanted to let everyone know.

I think that it was probably Madison who did it, and it IS possible that it was just a bad bone.

I guess with him being sick lately, I'm just trying to eliminate any possibilties that might be exacerbating it and I remember reading here about another member's dog, or her vet showing her threads from a rope toy that had balled up in a dog's stomach. Things that you don't notice that are going down and they don't come out! I think I also heard about the little shards puncturing the intestine somewhere, so when I saw this, I felt it was important to let you know at least to be aware.

Madison's going to the vet tomorrow morning so I'll ask her about the bones and just see what she's got to say.
