Welcome to the YT it is a great place.
As for Teddy I think he is going to be fine. I haven't had a male in a long time and am having some problems with him hiking his leg everywhere
He always goes to where there is floor that has no carpet and lays, I think that is what he was used to, and he is more comfortable on the floor. He was not able to lay in a doggie bed or on carpet.
