I just want to update this and tell you that the other day, I noticed some tiny little white pieces where Madison or Max had been chewing on one....they were very very small almost like dust, but they were sharp ended..as if it were minute pieces they'd chewed off the bone.
At the risk of sounding like a moron, after singing the praises of these (and only b/c I'd read from other vets that they were safe), I think I'd be very watchful when they're chewing on them or just not give them.
I'm so disappointed b/c they really do such a great job on their teeth! With my Madison's GI issues though, at this point, it's just not worth the risk. |
WOW! I know you must have been very frustrated when you saw that! Did you inspect the bones to see if the pieces came from the bones? I just wonder if you might have gotten a "bad bone". I, too am very frustrated about what to give to chew. I have almost decided that the only "safe" chewing thing is hubby's fingers and toes

but I am afraid he will run out of fresh meat if I don't find something else to supplement human fingers/toes
