Ok, I am sure that I am going to receive lots of negative comments but I'm ok with that.. I need some help big time!! I have 2 akc registered Yorkies that I planned to breed in a year or so.. I was planning on learning everything beforehand and talking to my vet first..Well I came back from Florida on Feb 15th. While I was gone, my father watched Kallie and Stewie..About Feb 20th or so I noticed Kallie having dishcarge and I assumed she was either in heat or going soon so I immediately put her underwear on.. I kept her and Stewie seperated at all times. They did not go outside together and they rotated turns in theiir crates. I kept kallies underwear on her for 35 days exactly and kept them seperated since I wasn't sure of when she came into heat.About a week after I put the underwear on her, I noticed blood in them so I knew I was doing the right thing by keeping them seperated. I listened to Stewie howl and cry for 35 days until they were reunited.. I thought heat was 21 days so I was safe after 35. Well last Thursday, I cut Kallies long hair off and noticed her belly and nipples. I weighed her and she has gained 2 lbs. I called the vet and took her on Friday for an ultrasound...He said yep, there are 2 or more puppies in their... He told me to try and think about when she would have conceived?????? I have no clue.. What did I do wrong???? I am so afraid that something is going to happen to her.. The vet told me that she would be fine. That 1 out of 5 Yorkies has to have a csection and that there was no way to tell until labor starts. He said that it being her first heat was no big deal... Is this true?? What could happen to her?? He said that how she does will depend on her genetics not her age.... He said that we are looking at delivery in the next week or two and that if she starts panting them she is getting ready... That is it..... That is all the info that I got from him and now I am carrying her around and watching her like a hawk but I have no idea what I am looking for... Someone please tell me where to start.. I am not prepared for this and I do not want anything to happen to my baby...Is there any way to tell how far she is????
