you can take her temperature rectally to see if she has a fever. normal is around 101-102. she is going to feel warmer to you because our temp is 98.6 and their's a few degrees higher. she also could feel warm because her skin is inflamed due to the itchiness.

the wellness core original is chicken and turkey so if she is allergic to chicken she's not going to get any better on this food. However since you said it started at the beginning of winter i'm inclined to think she has really dry skin. do you use fish oil and vitamin e? if not you should get some. also, an oatmeal shampoo right now would benefit her skin.

if i were in this situation first i would change her from the chicken formula to the ocean formula and add fish oil & vit e to it. And i would bath her in a gentle, soothing shampoo. I'd see how this goes for a few weeks. If she's not improving then i would take her in to the vet for a blood panel.
