I have never followed by the "no bath until" rules. They told me 4 weeks (!!!) for her knee surgery and she puked all over herself by day 3. I just wrapped her legs and butt in plastic wrap and washed the rest of her in the sink with the sprayer. I never "dunk" my dogs anyway. This week would be week 5 after her surgery and I think she has had 5 baths
I'm just very careful. After 2 weeks I called to find out why no baths even after the incisions healed and they said she might slip in the tub. Um, OK so we put a towel down on the bottom of the bath tub
Anyway, if you're creative you can do it. Plastic wrap and hand towels work great
