Just be prepared to wash and wash and wash the sand off. Especially if yours goes swimming.
The most fun is when there are some deep tidal pools. At one of our favorite beach destinations the tidal pools are often pretty deep and Ginger loves splashing around in those. I worry MUCH less than when she's braving the waves.
