Is Sammi crate trained? You might just try her in the crate with a wee wee pad? I tend to agree that it is probably too painful to jump down. Perhaps a little stool or some flat cushions at different heights to make it a lot easier to get down? We don't allow Toto to jump off the bed or sofa without a little bench which we keep at the foot of our bed and I keep two little flat cushions in front of the sofa for her. Those little knees can pop out so we don't want to take any chances!!
