I don't dare try the black light but this is a very interesting thread. I live in a ranch style one story, with a lot of tile but carpet in the den, bedrooms and hall. When Chloe and Lacey were puppies, of course, the area with the most accidents was the den. That's where we stay most of the time and that's where they have their kennels. Anyway, my carpet is pretty old, so I used Nature's Miracle, had them cleaned, etc but didn't worry too much about them until one of my daughters came in and told me my house now smelled of dog. So, I set out to find a flooring that could take a beating, that would not absorb the urine but look good. After my research I ended up with a product called Retroflooring, which looks like hardwood. The decision was made based on my research that said doggie accidents would go into the wood itself unless the "accident" was removed immediately. I like this product, it has a lifetime warranty, is actually used on dance floors it is so durable but it costs about the same as hardwood. People who come into my house comment on my new hardwood floor. I'm thinking about buying this when I replace all my carpet. The downside is it is a hard surface, I bought an area rug to give it some softening. I'm now at a loss as to what product to use. My girls are housebroken but there is always the accident and I still want another yorkie someday. Any ideas?
