We have one w/ a screened in front porch area and it was so nice to have that extra room to keep our bags in and we were able to put our shoes and flashlights, etc there so that we had room to spread out our sleeping bags in the main portion of the tent. I can't remember how many people our tent was supposed to hold. It was a big one. When they say how many people the tent is for on the label they are assuming you are going to cram everyone in sardine style. We liked to use air mattresses in our tent when we used it so we had a tent large enough to have 2 full size (or maybe queen size) air beds for us and my parents and two kid size sleeping bags for my girls. Buy a tarp to go under it and maybe one that can go over it so that if it rains you won't end up drenched. We have a trailer now but when we used to go tent camping it would always storm. We still had a blast even if we woke up in a puddle. My mom likes our trailer, but if dad goes w/ us also they usually take their tent and sleep in it instead. It is nice and peaceful to sleep under the stars.
Let me know when and where you're going camping and maybe we can meet. Sugar loves to go camping. Rem, my mini schnauzer, doesn't like it so he might get to stay w/ Gpa this year when we go camping. He just wanted to lay on the couch and watch tv. He's too funny...and very spoiled!
