This is the toughest decision you can make. I had to put our 5 y/o cat down several years ago due to kidney failure. He got me and my daughters through a real bad time (divorce), and I thought our hearts would break. I still don't know how we did it. My fear was that one of us would find him dead, and that would have been worse. I am so sorry for your pain. Please know that you have many friends here.
