"Teacup" is a term that unethical breeders use to sell their puppies for more money to people that don't know any better. It's basically a scam. Many times these "teacups" end up to be average-sized or even over standard as there is no standard written up for what a "teacup yorkie" is..because they do not exist. No reputable breeder will use the term "teacup" to sell a puppy as it is against the YTCA code of ethics, and no responsible breeder wants to produce puppies that are only 2-3lbs as they can easily be hurt because of their tiny size. Responsible breeders may get a tiny one occassionally but they strive to breed yorkies that fall between 4-7lbs. The Yorkshire Terrier standard is 7lbs and under, and I think many people don't realize just how small a 7lb dog really is.
