I would certainly "document" the incidences. It could be considered abusive and possibly actionable. Is there a supervisor you can complain to anonymously or his boss?
We had to let a contract dentist we had go because he treated the staff like slaves and thought the was so much better than everyone else. He was a high producer and a great dentist but he had an anger management problem and we were afraid of potential liablity for an "abusive work environment".
