My neighbor (right next door, the house in the middle of me and the broken into home) is a cop and he said the same thing. He said that she would probably hide if someone was to come in our home... I don't know though. Esme is such a little social butterfly, she might approach them so they could pet her and tell her how cute she is.
She loves attention.
