Thank you. Rescue organizations around here are pretty rare... There is one dog rescue that I know of but they are in desperate need of foster homes and donations. My friend was completely willing to pay for the medical expenses (which his owner said would be around $2000). I guess the question is really, what are the chances of this puppy living a long healthy life after surgery, or even getting through surgery if it is needed? He doesn't want to bring home a puppy to save it and get attached and then have his condition be something that can't be fixed.
