I'm in Charleston, and I HAVE a rescue from the one you're talking about, Lowcountry Animal Rescue. They do not answer e-mails or phone calls. You need to go to one of their weekly adopt-a-thons at a pet supply store, usually Super Petz. I know the lady that runs the rescue, and she is very sweet, but VERY, VERY busy! I suggest you find out where they'll be next & go there (usually on Saturdays I think).
